Rx7 1993 fuel tank drain/remove
Hi
does any one have any videos or advice on how to remove the fuel tank of a rx7 1993.
Cars been sat 10years unused and not running so thought it was a definite to remove and clean out properly be I attempt to start, What would you guys recommend on the fuel lines? . I’ve visually checked them and they all look good. Do these need to be removed and blown out or you think they’re be good to stay on. Any advice would be appreciated.
thanks

There’s a drain plug on the tank. Likely no need to drop it.
Roll the car outside and be certain you have a container big enough for the amount of gas left in the tank. Probably some Teflon tape on the drain plug going back in.
Never dealt with the issue but I suppose disconnecting the lines and blowing them out can’t hurt. I would blow away from the engine...toward the rear of the car. New filter and with good fuel system cleaner and new gas.
Strongly consider a new pump and sock, and pulling the injectors for cleaning and flow-testing once your sure it runs.

The metal fuel lines are probably good unless you see any major rusting.. The rubber, if original probably needs replacing as a preventative measure. Replace with OEM.
Looking at your location I'm assuming "Reading" is the Reading in PA. If your fuel tank or system components end up being junk I have a '93 Parts car in Northern VA that has all good parts.
Flush the lines out and replace the filter as mentioned above.
