IA rotarty right for me?

so i am not necessarily new to the car world but definently never been involved in rotaries...i have owned cars such as eclipses, 240sxs, and now an integra but there is an rx7 down the street being sold for 450 dollars..i am the only one who knows this place cuz i talked him into selling it.. i popped the hood and looks clean..definently rust but they say the only problem is a mass air flow sensor that is runnin about 180 dollars..this car is first generation i don't know much else..what do you think it is worth

Thumbs up

It sounds like rotary us right for you ! A first gen for 450 is good, if it runs good after that mass air flow sensor, then you would do really good. Maybe try to persuade him to buy the mass air flow sensor and put it on, so you can see if truly that is all that is wrong with it. Sounds like a deal though, Hope you get into the rx7's !

To add to happy's post, see if he will do the sensor as a factored in price for the car (you pay actual cost IF that is all that is wrong). If he won't then maybe you can come up with one, test it yourself, then sell the sensor back into the rx7 community if you are REALLY interested.

You could probably find an air flow sensor on the forums for cheap. I would get it so you have something to learn from.

Wow, a 2nd gen for 450 bucks? That right there is a real bargain...Just remember to take care of it well (like any other sports cars) but especially well cuz rx7s are special

Once you get your 5 posts, or are able to send private messages, get ahold of either myself or driftfc87. My name is Ian (from Washington) and his is Steve (from Bettendorf). We can get you started and help you diagnose any possible problems it may have.

What color is it?

^^^^ Someone up there said RX7's are special. I totally agree, you see these cars less and less now days. Get it and be proud! Hopefully ill be in the same boat!

I got my first one two years ago, now I have two. Sometimes its love/hate - but after ALOT of other cars- I think I will always have an RX of some kind from now on.

I have had mine since May, it was my first and I had the pleasure of rebuilding the engine from the start. It has been a learning process, but a fun one at that. Go for it, get the car!!!!

I'd go for it, especially since its hard to find sub $500 cars period these days. That and they rx7s are a blast even in stock form.

Also, I'm fairly local so if you ever need any parts or help let me know.
