Reusable parts?

Ok, assuming everything was in good running order before the problem situation(bad apex seals) in my S5 N/A, what parts are totally reusable and what would be the best things to replace for preventative maintenance? Like seals, springs, and such...

Ill be checking everything else for wear as its torn down, but Im just trying to find a basic idea of what will be needed beforehand.. This is my first rebuild..

Appreciate the feedback.

In general, side seals don't wear very much and can be often reused. Reusing these seals is easier for a first time rebuilder because clearancing new ones is a technique that takes practice.

All other seals need to be replaced. The hard oil o-ring carriers are an exception.

Loosing a seal often takes out the corresponding rotor housing.

So is there any basic kits out there that would cover most of the seals, if not all of them that I can buy?

Atkins and most of the other vendors sell rebuild kits.

Does anyone have a preferred kit they usually go with?

I have the apex seals themselves already, but need whatever else is required to teardown and complete the rebuild..

I simply buy all my parts at the dealer. A gasket kit, and then the seals need to be ordered separately. It's a really bad day if you are in the middle of a build and find out you forgot to order side seals to generally a rebuild kit is best for first timers. The Atkins kit is very popular. I've used it in the past.
