replacing the rear hatch with a CF hatch and lexan rear window?

I was wondering if someone such as myself undertook such a modification, do you think it could yield a sizeable reduction in weight on the car?

How hard would be be to sell a 3rd gens rear hatch and window? I really wouldn't want to store something that big...but I wouldn't want to throw it away.

You could take the hatch off and weigh it then get a few more posts and place a sale ad to find out the answer.

If you are talking about a FD, you should keep the stock hatch and glass in case you (or a future owner) does not want a plastic hatch

As for weight, guessing 50 lbs-ish

Yeah, 40 to 50 lbs. difference. And if it’s not going to be a dedicated track-only car, you’ll pay alot of money to de-value the car by the same amount unless you do save the old one.

I've heard good things about optic armor, but no hands on experience.
