Registering RX7 to Sweden

I hope this section, while being about technics, will be all right as a place to ask question like this.

So, I currently have no RX7 of my own, but I'm soon going to buy an FD. The thing is that I'm soon going to move to Sweden for work, but I'd like to buy unregistered and non-taxed FD from Finland before moving - thus saving nice amount of cash for later use.
I'd just want to know what kind of things I would need to know/do to get that car registered in Sweden? I guess that headlights in RHD car need to be replaced, but is there anything else that need to be done to match swedish laws? Also are any kind of paperwork needed?

It's def a "technical" matter, just not the mechano-electrical kind. I have no earthly idea so I'm going to the Regional boards to drag some of the Nordic guys n gals over here and see if they can help.

You need a certificate from Mazda Sweden (talk to a guy named Sven).
You also need right hand headlights. The headlights from a Toyota Celica with popup lights can be used. They are cheap, but needs an adapter to make them fit.
The air pump must be installed and working to pass the emission test. The lambda is allowed to be within 0.97 and 9,99 (because of the air pump).

Do you have more accurate info on this? I can only Google up address and phone no. -> Faktorvagen 9 S-434 37 Kungsbacka. 46-300-31-800.

Can this adapter be bought, ir is it just a simple DIY? Or by adapter do you mean a way to make Celica's lamps to fit in the original popups?

Oh darn. First time when things in Finland become easier We don't need to pass the emission tests with Wankel engines here.
But what is this air pump? Just a simple bolt-on?

Sorry, but I don't know the phone number. But try that number you found.

You need the metal frame around the Celica headlights plus the headlight. Then you need an adapter to fit the headlight and the frame to the car. A friend of mine has got adapters for sale if you don't want to make them on your own. But you have to find the metal frame for the headlight yourself on a scrap yard for example. The headlights could be bought at a dealer called "Micro" (www.micro.se), though they don't exist anymore. I can try to find another dealer that has got the Celica headlights.

The air pump is pumping air to the catalytic converter and helps it to reach operating temperature faster, and it also helps to keep the exhaust gases cleaner. All RX-7 FD has got a air pump installed from factory.

I'll contact you if I'm not able to work these out. But it's still long way till I'll actually need these anyway.

Nah, no ty. I'm pretty sure those kind of lamps won't be that hard to find from scrapyard or a place like that. Might even get some cheap aftermarket parts for an old Celica.

So basically this is nothing I need to change, since its already installed? And anyway, just driving the car warm would do the same, right?

Yeah, the headlights shouldn't be that hard to find at the scrapyard.

You need to have a air pump to pass the emissions. The lambda value will be too low without it. But, you can pour some aspen fuel into tank if your car has no air pump or if you have trouble getting passed the emission test.
The air pump is located at the upper left on the engine and shares the same belt as the waterpump. The other belt is used by the power steering and the a/c.

I have almost made my desicion about the car I'm going to buy, so I have couple questions more. And more will arise during weekend/next week if I get to buy this I've set my eyes on.

What kind of sum of tax are we talking with '92 Type X FD? Is there some website for Swedish Customs or anything to browse? Also, how many days do the Customs give "drive time" until I have to make the registration?
I'm going to move to Göteborg area (Västra Götaland), so is there some area-specific registrations or can registration be done anywhere in Sweden?

Registration is made at "Bilprovningen" where you do the normal yearly check of the car. Swedish customs can be found at http://www.tullverket.se/

I can ask a friend for more details if you can't find it yourself. He imported a RX-7 from Japan by himself.
