Rear wiper & defroster
Hello everyone. I've got an 85 GSL, 12a NA, 5-speed, LSD and my rear wiper & defroster don't work. I have replaced the fuses still nothing. I've looked thro other sections and nothing addresses this. Any ideas. thnx

The rear wiper is powered by the wiring that travels down the passenger's side support strut.
At the end of the strut housing, you'll see that there are two rings and there are two matching rings at the end of the strut shaft. When the hatch is up, the rings are separated. When you close the hatch, the rings connect.
See if those rings are corroded. You may want to use some contact cleaner on them.
The defrost is powered by the two spiral cables near the hatch hinges. Check for power there.
Often, the two spiral cables will get power, but the defrost will not work because the grid on the window is scratched. Examine it closely for scratches. There is a special repair kit that contains a conductive paint to repair these grids.
