TN rear window defroster coming off

I recently purchased a 94 fd r2. I started to clean the rear window and noticed that the clear film that holds the grid for the defroster is stickey and rolls off when you try to clean the glass. I was using windex and a soft towel. It looks terrible now. Is it possible to replace the rear window grid? Can you even buy those? Thanks

Now that sounds odd. Can you post a pic?

We get our OEM parts from Ray Crowe at Malloy Mazda. His number is in the 3rd Gen FAQ thread. He gives the community steep discounts on parts.

The stickey film is clear. i'm not familiar with the process of tinting. If someone pulled off tinting, would it leave a stickey film? I'll try to take some pics and post them. What holds the defroster grid to the glass?
