Rear end swap questions

The first major mod I want to do to my 83 rx7 is fit it with a limited slip diff. It has rear drum breaks so based on what I have read both here and elsewhere it doesn't have one now. I've also read about swapping my rear end with a gsl-se rear end for disc breaks and a lsd. My question is, is this the most cost effective way to get this done, an what else needs to be swapped if this is the route I end up going. Thanks so much!

welcome to the board.

if all you want is the LSD and discs, then get a GSL rear. the SE would require you to change your front brakes/bolt pattern if you want matching wheels all around.

Is the GSL rear a 7'' or an 8'' like the turbo?

Sounds good, I'll keep an eye out for gsl rear ends at the junk yards. Thanks
