Random engine question. Need help.

Ok a little back story so you don't think I'm crazy. My engine broke in my 84 gslse, which had the 13B, and I have been looking for a new engine. My brother recently bought an 87 non-turbo and the car came with another rebuilt, also 13B, engine non-turbo. He is offering me the engine for a cheap price and I am wanting to know how hard it is to put this engine in my car. I am also looking at the ignition and wondering if the rotor cap and button will go in the same place where the electronic ignition is? Please be gentle and I hope the questions are not to stupid.

Thanks everyone.

The bare engine block is pretty similar, but the mounting points are different between the 1st and second gen.

You can take your front cover, oil pan, and manifolds from the GSL-SE engine and put them all on the 1987 engine.

and the dist from the gslse engine(can't just swap cap and rotor) will drop right in in place of the CAS of the 87 engine. just make sure to rotate the engine to TDC and line up the marks on the dist shaft.

Thank you. Both of you were very helpful. Another question for you. How do you find TDC on the rotary engine? I've never had to do it before.
