Questions About Insurance

Hi, I'm trying to convince my parents to allow me to let me buy a 1988 RX-7, They say insurance will be from 300-400 dollars a month, but I've seen way lower, could anyone let me know what yours is? Anyone who is below 25 please, I'm 16.

What others pay isn’t really useful information for you. It also depends on things like what city you live in, what your driving record is, claims history, what other cars are covered under your parents insurance, what other drivers are covered, coverage limits, deductibles...and probably more I can’t think of. Your 16...it’s their call.

Also worth noting, a lot of people on here have their cars insured under collectible policies, which are for occasionally driving and not your daily driver and are normally fairly cheaper than a standard liability/comprehensive policy.

But rejoice, it is very simple to answer your own question. Go run a quote using esurance, state farm, progressive or any of the other major auto insurance companies. Should take you about 20 minutes to run the numbers for a few places and see what the minimum coverage in your state will cost for that car.
