Lightbulb Questions about heat shield for fd

well I talk to a guy at pettit racing and he was saying something about a heat sheild that stops the rotors i think the rear one from over heating. I have single turbo and the tech said that is 90% of the time that's why motors blow. does any one Know anything about that or was he just trying to make a sale? He seem cool and new his stuff but it was over the phone so who knows.

I am by no means an expert in FD's. But I do know that FD's run hot and a heatshield is probably not a bad idea.

90% of FD's are blown by people that do intake/exhaust upgrades without the proper fuel upgrades and run lean.

Im not an expert with a FD but I do own a single turbo one. A heat shield will keep heat away from important parts in the engine bay. I would look into a turbo blanket. They cost about $150. My engine builder told me I need to invest in one soon.

So I dont need one right off the bat then ??
Since you have one let me ask you about the vacuum lines. How did you run them ?? did you change any or eliminate any of them ???

I dont know if i eliminated or changed any of them from stock. I know they were all replaced when the car got built. AZ rotary rockets rebuilt the car. I dont think you need one right away but I have ordered mine and installing it soon. I can take a pic of the engine bay if you would like to see how the hoses were ran though

At post #20 in this link you will see a diagram for single turbo vacum hoses. You can see there is not a lot of them, so I don't think you would need alot of hose. I am sure if you look in the single turbo section you can find the info you are looking for.

Good luck
