Question on part availability

Morning all,
Question for all you RX7 vets out there. Are there specific parts for the RX7 that are particularly difficult to find? Whether it be stock or aftermarket, what jumps out to you as "I was contemplating buying this part, then this rare one showed up and i just had to pull the trigger?"

Thanks for taking the time

That depends on the generation. I can only speak to 2nd gen.

Most of our parts (as in functional components) are still available through Mazda or through online retailers, but the parts that are rare and elusive are mostly optional extras.

Factory mudguards, the glass/plexiglass sunroof, certain Finish Line accessories. Etc.

And then there are some parts like our Throttle Position Sensor, which aren't rare but have a high replacement cost ($250 last I checked), so finding a good used unit is always cool.

You might be able to find more answers by going to each Generation Specific forum, and using the advanced search. For the 2nd gen, there is already a stickied thread for it.

Tricky Parts to Find

I've had extremely difficult times finding the following for my fc Turbo II: Fan Clutch, A/C Condenser and the wax pellet control for the cold start idle. It took several weeks to find the wax pellet control as well as the fan clutch.

Is that because of price or overall scarcity?

Part Availability

It was scarcity. Actually, the prices were pretty reasonable but it took a few weeks of looking to find them in some cases.
