I have a 1982 rx7 gsl car runs great but at high rpm on 1&2 gear around 5-6 close to red line it starts putting out an then after a couple of seconds runs fine.Also carb started making a loud sucking sound at idle.please help my first mazda I love this car.

 

Dirty fuel filter . Caused by dirty gas tank. Filter easy. Search. 'Marine clean' and clean your tank. You'll be glad you did. Failure to do so will give ongoing headache.
After that, drive for a while. You may want to rebuild carb. But clean fuel source is key.
