1988 rx7 non turbo stick.
so me and my buddy own this car together, as we both have enough projects and vehicles (i have 4 and he has 3 then add a rx7)
The known is the leaky inj. we actually picked it up for 300 not running and pulled the comp fuse cranked it and it fired right up and has been running pretty good, we have put about 160 mi on it since then just trying to drive it and get all the problems to surface so it can be repaired, we want it to be a track car
Anyways he just called me and said that someone had pulled out infront of him and he had to do a four wheel lock up on the hwy. didnt hit him but for duration of his trip home everytime he would depress the clutch pedal the rpms would drop and the engine would die.
So Im a mechanic, he is very mechanically inclined. But i cant actually physically touch it until sunday.
So has anybody ever heard of this issue, or is it common. Something simple. A point in a general direction would be nice. Ive never worked on a rotary so im in a whole new territory.
Any help is appreciated. Thanks,
Anthony

a g sounds like a vacuum leak was created by the hard braking action. take a really close look under the hood for anything loose. was the battery strapped in good? did it move anything around? also check all the intake piping did it pop a hose loose at the air box of air meter by the filter box.. look at all these..push and pull on the hoses while running you will find the source
