BC Project Car - Maybe a Drifter Eventually :)

I just purchased this beast last week! (July 19th 2013)

My "New To Me" RX-7 GXL

I'm in process of giving the thing a major tune up before throwing any mods at her.

List of things done so far:
Seafomaed the engine (DIY carbon remover and engine internals cleaner)
New Plugs (NGK)
New Wires (NGK)
New Air Filter (K&N)
New Starter Solenoid
New O2 Sensor (Bosch Universal)

Any suggestions would be most welcomed, as this is the first Wankel engine I have owned!

I'd go for a new fuel filter too.
Check all hoses,change all fluids,belts.
If you plan on keeping the car a LONG time then I would be delving into the Bushings.Replacing 20 year old rubber makes the car drive like new and also give you peace of mind down the road.
Brake hoses(flex lines..check them.)

That's all I can think off the top of my head...so far,But I am known to remember later...lol!

Fluids are in process of being swapped, I did an oil change once I first bought the car and another after I seafoamed the engine. I have a fuel filter and was throwing it in this Friday after another seafoam job.

I did the transmission fluid and it came out almost brown.... Like someone used ATF in it at one point....

I'll be doing the tranny fluid again this Friday with some Neo Synthetic 75W90

As far as belts and hoses, they all look relatively new. I will have a look into how much the bushings are lol this car has taken a tole on my wallet so far haha.

That's why your avatar pic looks like: "You spent WHAT on WHAT?????"..Lol!

Once you start getting "into" these cars, your Wallet is going to take a hit. It''s the nature of the game.
Try to set reasonable goals for what you do though.

Not like me,who started off with a N/A and am still trying to break the sound barrier!

Sounds like my plan as well!

Reasonable goals HAVE been set with the thing, but the previous owner seemed like he didn't know how to treat a vehicle. It's a daily back and forth from work driver right now, with small tunes/tweaks here and there along the way.

Mostly just getting it to a good running state right now, last thing I need for that is a new battery, which I'm picking up this Friday.

The motor looks like it was rebuilt at one point, So i'm just going to baby it, most of the time

I'm keeping it mostly stock for the moment until I get the car fully paid off
(paid 1700 CDN for it)
