problem with second gear

so at high rpms my 88 rx7 wont engage 2nd gear any ideas

2nd gear syncros are a common wear point. Try double clutching. If that allows you to shift, then the problem isa worn 2nd gear syncro.

Does it grind when you try to shift it? Or is it just completely locking you out of 2nd gear? Can you shift into 2nd gear when the car isn't turned on? Sometimes it can actually just be the throw-out bearing or the pilot bearing. Either time for a clutch job, or a transmission rebuild!
