problem with power window on my vert

When i hit the power switch, the window moves slightly but won't go all the way up. I took off the door panel and found that the cable that actually pulls up the window is frayed. I tried to get to it with no luck. Does anyone know how to fix?

The regulator assembly must be replaced. This means the track, cable and motor all have to come out as one piece. Mazda sells it as one part (lots of $$$), and you can find them used as well. The cable alone is not really replaceable due to how it feeds into the motor. If you take the cover off of the motor, the spring-loaded center will unwind & become almost impossible to reassemble correctly. When my driver-side cable broke, I attempted this, but could never get it to operate smoothly again. It is very difficult to not have the cable bind up as it feeds in/out.
