AL Power Window issues

My driver's side power window needs help to roll up. It will roll 1-2" and then stop and bounce up and down a little until I pull on it pretty hard, then it will go up, 1-2". Wash rinse, repeat until its all the way up.

It rolls down fine.

Anyone know what this would be? Is it fixable or would I need a new motor/regulator.

The motor may just be getting less power than it should. Old wiring combined with the resistance that builds up inside the window switch can slow down the window. The typical work around is to rig up a set of relays (2 per window) to carry the load so the switches don't have to. If the wires carrying power are suspect, the interior fuse block can be tapped into with some new wire.

Threads like this explain the relay mod:

Its not electrical, its mechanical. Something in the track for the window motor it seems. I lubed the **** out of it with wd-40 and it works a lot better now. It however seems the window is loose in the tracks. I snugged down the screws that hold it to the regulator as well.

Window now works pretty good, I still gotta yank on to get up the last 1/2" or so.
