Fc owners my 88 gtu has powersteering SOMETIMES And when I say sometimes it's whenever I least expect it after warm up or even at the gas pump or just whenever it feels like it.. I'm wondering how many of you rock no powersteering, it drives fine but parallel parking is a b**** and if you do have it then how do I make it a consistent thing? Do the pumps go bad?

 

Pumps do indeed go bad. The FC uses a fairly complicated system to regulate the pump pressure and it sound as though the electronics are the issue. There is a stepper motor and solenoid on the pump. Check the connections and make sure they are tight and clean.
