Power steering hose replacement

My fd power steering presured hose is leaking. I saw somewhere a new one going for $220, that a lot of money for the hose. I have read somewhere that I can cut the fitting 2 Inc from the banjo and clamp a new hose. Can that actually work and be leak free? I want to keep my power steering. Thanks for any help

A hydraulic hose shop can make a new one using the old fittings. I would not trust clamping it.

Try the trusty AD section here.
I wouldn't pay 220 for any freakin hose..unless she handcuffed and whipped me!..(uh..am I thinkin right?..lol!).
Kind NOTE: you won't find parts though in this section.

To give you an idea of pressure on the system My car blew a shaft seal and sprayed from the rack to the Top of the windshield(without hood on..)

Thanks, that's what I thought about the presure in the system. I asked here cause I can't post on the parts for sale section, maybe cause I just signed up to the club. I had an account 4 years ago, but i lost password and it's been a while since I didn't use it.

I was hoping someone jump and say. "I know who has one for sale". Lol

Yep..you need 10 posts to place any type of ad in The Classifieds..and any type of "wtb or selling" in this Section just gets the thread Deleted as we urge guys to use the correct sections for what they are intended for.

^This...or step up and pay MAZDA. Don't cut and clamp it. It's a pressure line and this is your steering system.

I guess, I will keep looking for used one or get some shop to do it. I don't want to pay $220 though. I think it's too much for it, being honest,. I would say $160 max for that hose.
Thanks for all your input.

Take your hose to a tractor or heavy equipment shop. They'll give you a cost estimate and can do the work.

That's actually a great idea. Here in the Midwest I think even a lot of the small towns have shops that can do that.
