Possible blown water seal?

Ok so im looking for any information or tips i can get on how long a car can be driven with a bad water seal any possible band aids till i can afford rebuild and just any information that maybe usefull to me at this point trying to plan a cheap rebuild.

A little info on my car its an 86 s4 n/a 5 speed with few mods and recently swapped engine with one that was supposedly pulled from a daily driven s4 that got in a crash...

So i first got the car runnin and was getting too much oil gas and what i didnt know at the time was coolant too. Pulled it apart again to look it all over realized i had an omp problem injecting way too much oil and a cracked secondary injector causing it to flood on rev past 4k..so i did an omp delete amd replaced the injector with one off the other enginge i had. And put it all back together couldn't get it started went out the next morning to try again in the sunlight still no luck so i pulled the plugs n Noticed the rear trailing plug had white sludge so i pulled the oil cap and it also had white sludge wich in a piston engine usually means bad head gasket so in a rotary i assume its the water seals... I don't know im still learning on rotary's and am working myself up to a rebuild soon with help of my dad who is a master tech but hasnt realy messed with rotary..(wish us luck) so i guess what im mostly looking for is some feed back n tips or anything that some more experienced rotary owners may think usefull to me because i love my car n want to
Keep it for a long long time but i need to
Relocate soon n sadly if its not up n running wont be able to relocate it with me:/ so any help and feed back is very much appreciated

If you haven't touched the engine to the point That you are still able to do a Compression test on it,I would do so now.
The white sludge on the oil cap is normal. It is condensation from heating up and cooling down.I have seen it before and it doesn't mean Necessarily that the engine is screwed.
The only thing that bothers me is your sludge on the spark plug and that is why I am leaning towards more info with a Comp test.

Yea i was planning on picking up a compression tester this weekend n seeing what its got just so i know.my old engine only had like 70 psi per rotor but still was daily driving like a champ lol it was just weaker then a popcorn fart n had real sluggish throttle response.ive had the chance to
Take this engine around the block a few times n to town once while it was running with the bad injector n smoking like a train n just a nice pat in second gear snatched it side ways lol loved it Ill mess with it a little more today maybe go back thru it and check my work the other night n repost any changes or discoveries thanx for the quick suggestion.

I dunno man..I've had Popcorn farts that would rip the sheets right off the bed..lol!

you could try another spark plug(new or replacement) in the meantime and go for a couple "rips"..(pardon that..had to..haha!) and see if the sludge shows up again.

Lol it was still dusting hondas n slow stangs XD so it was a strong pop corn fart..

I've been swapping between plugs after a few tries so far today havent seen any sludge just seems like its getting too much fuel...so maybe symptoms of a stuck injector flooding it out? Think im going to pull the secondary fuel rail again n check out that injector maybe swap
In another m play with it some see what i can accomplish.. Id really like to see my baby run again lol sucks seeing it sit in the drive way...

Well, you could try to obtain some Used injectors in the Classifieds.
I see them go cheap like 60-80 bucks a set.
I had a set of N/A injectors here that would have helped you IF your car was an 88.

NOTE: I can't let this thread turn into a Want ad though(Rules,no buying/selling,etc),so let's just leave the "parts hunting" for the Appropriate section and if anyone feels that they can help you they can PM you.Or you can make a couple more tech inquiries to boost your Post Count so that you are able to gain access to the Classifieds.
You can never ask too many questions..(but repetitive questions posted previoulsy do not get put up ..again..saves space.)

Luckily I've got a whole bunch of extra parts almost two or more of everything lol so i been playing with injectors all day.even made my self a tester plug to make sure they open and close right. So for an update i pulled the upper intake and secondary fuel rail again n went thru everything again found a lose ground and turns out one of the injectors were stuck so i swapped it out haven't got it back together yet but ill post on my progress when im done.

Ok so i got it all in and running and driving but with terrible idle and smokes like crazy after loading up around mid tach... I cant really see any bubbles in my coolant nor is there coolant in my oil. I had to advance the timing to keep it at a decent idle feels like its misfiring. I Pull the plugs n the front rotors have clean plugs the rear rotor trailing plug is soaked and the leading is slightly wet. But are there any major differences in the injectors used in the s4's the injector i had to use came off the engine im running now but with a slightly different plug on its harness. The plugs off the one i used were red the ones on the harness in my car are white and the key slots are in the middle the other ones are to one side on the plug. Are there any major differences in the s4 injectors that im missing? The car acts like its still getting too much fuel i can kill the fuel pump and itll idle a few seconds after the pumps off..

Sounds a lot like my problem! Completely sludged up plug on the front rotor. Changed them out and now its TRYING to start at least, but won't catch. Looks like I'll try injectors too.

Rex, any updates?

the different plugs on the injectors mean that the Impedance(resistance) is different.
The 86-87.5 used LO impedance and a resistor pack connected to the harness.
the 88 used a HI impedance injector and NO resistor pack.

Ok so the sludge problem has stopped on my engine. I figured out its my oil seals that are bad its consuming large amounts of oil n has puffs of smoke between occasional shifts... And your spot on about the injectors figured it out after researching some been trying to find a cheap replacement turns out most people selling the reman injectors don't know the difference in them...
