Poor Gas Mileage: 85 GSL
I have several rx7's but this one only gets about 17 mpg. The others are 25 to 27 mpg. I have had the car a long while, but I don't really remember it having bad mileage. It has new wires, rotor, cap, plugs. I've been wondering about adjusting the carburator, but I am very in experienced in this area. I see in the manual a couple of screws, but I don't find them on this car. Would carburator adjustment be recommended, or a whole new carburator? What think thee oh sages of the ancient rx7?
If it's running right, then don't touch the carb!
I would start by checking over the ignition system. Sometimes the leading ignition will fail, leaving you will a loss of power and terrible gas mileage.
If that checks out, then when was the last time the air filter was replaced?

Various things can affect gas mileage. Low tire pressure, clogged up cats, poor ignition, clogged air filters, etc. etc.. Just go through and check all the basics first.
