Question Plz someone anyone with rotary knowledge help me? Would be very grateful for any help

Hi lol my first post, names alex il make the intro short m last car decided it didn't like me and it's fuel system went suiciadal crazy couldn't figure it out now she gone to my friend. I've come across a amazing deal for a 89 rx7 convertible with 90,000 miles on it for only $1200! But it won't go over 3000 rpms when driving. I found out this is the infamous limp mode correct? My good friend owns two of these body styles a hard top 88 and a convertible 88 so I'm very aware of these cars capabilities and I ******* love them lol their amazing and they sound amazing the high rpms all that ****** awesome. Could I please get some advice??? My buddy said you guys know what's up so I'm asking you is this car worth getting? It's clean for the price could the limp mode be something serious and costly? Or something like the tps??? Any help is apreciated I only know a very very small bit about rotarys. But there's a whole nother car at my friends I'd be able to trade parts from. I just don't wanna end up in a love hate relationship with this car. If that's to much sorry lol I'm really excited about the possibility of owning a rx7 please help me anyone someone who knows these cars!
Thanks for reading even if u can't help

If you suspect limp mode, then pull the codes as instructed in the FAQ. If the metering oil pump has failed then it will show the appropriate codes.
