please help new member

hey everyone I was wondering if I can have some help. I recently purchased 93 mazda rx-7 that runs but it back fires and idols up and down I took It to a mechanic and they thought it was cranck sensor and it wasnt the problem then the computer was second guess that didnt change car problem anyone have any clue please help.

The FD is a complicated car. It is beyond the aptitude of many mechanics out there including the one you took it to. Highly unlikely that your problems are from the ECU. Has the compression been checked?

I suggest you find a rotary specific shop somewhat near you that can take a look at the car. Check the Regional forum for CA and call some of the shops. I think Mazdatrix, Lucky 7 and others are in the LA area.

vacuum leak would be my first guess. my car was doing both of those things and it turned out to be vacuum related.
