NE Pillow ball grease under cap

Should I put grease under the rubber seal that covers the pillow ***** or leave them dry. The ones I just replace had grease in them and looked like the grease was holding water in rather than keeping it out. Would I be better off to just install the new bushings put the caps on dry and allow them to breathe a bit. Almost seems like they would work better with no caps at all.

I grease mine. If you leave them dry I doubt they'd last long. Every year or so I do a minor "re-pack" of mine to make sure they're full using a small needle valve on a grease gun to carefully go under the rubber caps or where the cap is flexed a bit and is open.
