If i find an old 1986-91 rx7 at a junk yard with a stock turbo on it (rare find) could i put it on my '88 and still pass smog?

(I live in California, and it is a GTU if that matters)

You need to post more information. If you're asking if you'll pass after you replace your turbo with the one you found in the junkyard - then the answer is maybe.

Do you mean putting a turbo on an NA motor? If that is the case, as long as you make the car look stock, than visually you should pass the smog. Emissions, probably not.
