Partial Rx7 Owner
Hi all, I own an Ls1 Miata that I built and to be quite honest I created an account here to ask one simple question. I have an 87 Turbo II rear differential in my miata and I was wondering if there was any way to varify that it is in fact a Turbo II. Is there a size difference in differential housing of the Turbo II vs Non Turbo? Is the Turbo II really stronger? Thanks guys.

The driveshaft from a non turbo rx-7 and a turbo2 rx-7 mount differently onto the differential and yes the turbo2 differential is really stronger. The s5 non turbo rx-7 has 160 bhp and the turbo2 rx-7 has 200-210 bhp. Im pretty sure that if it was the non turbo rx-7 lsd it would have broken by now if its in an LS1 swapped Miata.
