Oil pressure / temp gauge for SA

Regarding poor oil parameters signalization in SA I´m thinking about an improvement. As 1st Gen SA has only oil level sensor in the oil sump I suggest it would be good idea to have also a pressure and maybe temperature oil gauge. In my center console there is a tray under the radio and it should be nice, not disturbing place for gauges. As there is not much room in the shelf I looked for small gauges and I found 1,5" diameter Autometer 2391 gauges. I would probably use only pressure, temp and make new direct fit console. Did anybody do similar upgrade for the SA? How reliable are Autometer gauges? Any other 1,5" suitable option? Bar and °C prefered.. Thank you in advance.

I've done it to my 1985 and do plan on 3D printing a center console for my 1979 SA. I did design this for my SA before getting a 3D printer so won't be using them.

I used 2 1/8" iEquus electrical gauages.

The carbon look and wood look ones are special plexiglass that has that pattern on the back and a protective film on that from that gets removed. I had these laser cut.

For the 1985, I took two broken panels to make one. I cut the openings from one and turned it upside down to get a clean factory edge where the top radio opening is. I then used JB weld and level/filled everything in and sanded and then painted.

Thank you for sharing your ideas. The solution for 85 looks pretty clean, Everythnink is on its place.

Do you design whole 3D printed console for SA? I´m thinking about design only insert instead of current compartment. As I want to do external oil reservoir for OMP, I would include low level checklight in new panel.
Wooden look panel could be decent with red interior, but the flatness of it changes the feel a bit. Did you plan to glue it inside the original frame?

Is in the forum special place for sharing stl files? I had printed downloaded engine internals organizer, but also my own flywheel stoppers. I know there are other places where sharing stl is easy, but make RX7 database inside the club should be nice help to each other.
