Oil, bumpers, and more

Hey guys, I've been mulling over buying an RX-7 for the better part of the past four years, and the oppurtunity has recently presented in the form of a beautiful '93 FD.

This will be the first rotary engine car I've owned (and I hope it's not the last), so I'm really looking for the same generic info everyone else asks for.

About oil - I've heard that Idemitsu Rotary Engine oil is excellent, but for what usage I've never known. I only intend to drive to car for short trips inbetween my daily driving, so I'm unsure which oil to spring for. I know Idemitsu's the only synthetic oil proven to be safe for use in the rotary engine (as far as I know), but would it be the best oil for me? If there's anything better for me (synthetic or not), please tell me.

I've been looking at a couple bodykit parts to put on, and I think I've decided on this front bumper:

Is there anything I should know as I go about installing it? I'm worried about the fog lights in particular. Anything else I'll be needing, or should I be good to go with just the car and the bumper?

I intend to be painting the car Brilliant Black, but won't be doing so myself. I've never had a car painted, as my previous cars weren't deemed worthy (Ford Taurus and a Dodge Durango - you understand). What all will I need to know as I go into a paint/body shop? I got the paint code from the thread on these forums, but is there anything else I'm going to need?

And if there's anyone in the Roanoke, VA area who knows of a good body/paint shop that doesn't charge too much, please share info.

Thanks in advance for your help, guys. And sorry for wasting your time with these old questions.

I'm sure the stuff is good, by in my opinion it is an overpriced gimmick for people with more money then sense.

Almost all modern synthetic oils are fine. Personally I question even why synthetic is necessary unless you have just built a brand new engine with all new parts. Seems crazy to through it into an engine that gets it's oil changed every 3K and has already run 100,000+ miles.

Paint is one of those things that is directly tied to cost, and getting a proper black job is going to be very time consuming. What is your budget? Be aware that black shows every tiny flaw so the car must be totally straight. This means about a hundred hours of blocking, sanding and filling.

Yeah, I've only been able to go off what I've heard from others so far. From what I've heard, synthetic oils don't burn cleanly enough, but after doing a bit more research this afternoon, I've found out that most synthetic oils will indeed work.

I guess if I should elaborate a little on the one I'm looking at, if it'll help out at all.

The engine's a normal, stock 13B engine with only 22k miles on it. I assume the old engine was replaced in favor of this one at some point. The only modifications on the car are Tien springs and a set of 18-inch rims, and Alpine headers.

On the outside, the car's currently painted Silverstone Metallic with stock R1 spoilers.

I'm absolutely positive I'll have no less than $3,000 left in the bank account I have set aside as my car fund, and that's if I don't haggle with the dealership I'll be buying from any.

They want $14,000 for it currently. I'm going to try and get it down another grand or two. Even if they won't lower the price any, I think I'll be able to scrounge up an extra $750 within the next couple of months or so.
