Official Oil Metering System Description?
Official Oil Metering System Description?
Hi all. I'm trying to get an emission exemption for my 1993 RX-7. My city allows for exemptions for "vehicles that are fueled by a mixture of gasoline and oil for purposes of lubrication". As we all know, the RX-7 uses the oil metering system to do just that, but I can't find any official Mazda source that says this. I have the service manuals and highlighted the diagram that shows the oil going to the injector (D-2 in the 1993 Service Highlights document), but I would really like a plain English description that says what it's doing to help present my case.
Does anyone have something official from Mazda, or at least from a trusted site that describes the system? For anyone that has the original owner's manual, does it say something in there, and is there a scanned copy anywhere?
Thank you for the help.

Just print out the lubrication system pages of the 2nd Gen "Training Manual". It is technically for a 2Gen, but it is labeled "RX-7 Training Manual" so it should be good enough for your proof.

Downloadable copies of the 93 FSM are available in the 3rd Gen. FAQs. In it you will find a diagram of the oiling system which includes the OMP, lines and injectors which are specific to your car.
