"off-shore" T04z

Im thinking of swapping out my stock sequentials for a Single Turbo setup...looking at T04z's but don't really wan't to drop the Cash on a HKS or Garret...doe's anyone run an off shore cheap copy? if so...how is it?

They are VERY hit and miss. But HKS and Garrett cost what they do because they do shocking things like balance the rotating assembly. Typically the China stuff is just thrown together, the castings are poor, and sometimes you'll find lovely surprises like compressor covers secured via epoxy.
You take a risk when using one. If you do go that route, inspect it thoroughly before you install and take it to a local turbo shop to be balanced.
Oh, and the specs of those China turbos are, well, completely fabricated. They just toss any model number on it they want, regardless of wheel sizes and trim. In order to choose the turbo you'll need to find the measurements and compare it to something known.

Im dissapointed. Read the thread title and thought it would be about a boat with a turbo rotary in it
I would also wait and get a good quality turbo from a known company. You may save some money on the turbo but when the compressor explodes and sends shrapnel into the engine the rebuild wont be so cheap. Fast, reliable, cheap. pick two
