PA Odd trans/motor bolt with slit

I'm pulling the motor out from my '88 S4 RX7 convertible and noticed that out of the 5 trans/motor bolts, one is installed in reverse direction, uses a nut on the trans side and has a slit in the bolt as if a screwdriver would be used on it. The bolt is located on the very top and also secures a mount support for attaching a chain to lift the motor out. I got the nut off but is that bolt screwed in only thru the block and not continued into the trans housing?
I hope so because it would make the engine removal easier.

The bolt should be backwards, with the head facing the front of the car and the threaded portion through the eyelet in the bellhousing. It helps guide the transmission onto the rear housing and holds the engine mount in place.

I'm not sure what you are asking.

that bolt is only threaded into the rear housing of the engine.

Thank you. I decided to back it out half way and realized that only the block side is threaded. So I was able to leave the rear engine hoist bracket attached to that bolt.

Engine is out now.
