So most people are missing that piece in the center console due to the massive stock radio.
Once replaced with an aftermarket single-DIN, is there any DIN pockets out there that would fit in the empty space?
Or what have people done? Gauge setups etc?

Are you talking about FD? If so, I had a single DIN head unit when I first got my car. Here is a pic:
The gap under the unit was good for storing a remote or something like that, but it did have the habit of sliding out under acceleration…
