hello i have an 86 gxl, today i just finished putting my intake manifolds back on and getting every thing hooked back up, after installing pineapple racing's aux port sleeve inserts.
so i try to start it a few times it catches for couple of seconds and dies, so i pull one of the trailing spark plugs and crank over the engine and observe no spark.
just seeing if anyone has experienced this or has any advice.
oh and the car had been sitting for about a year with the uim off after being the victim of a fire and none of the ignition harness was damaged in the fire.
any input is appreciated

Make sure the Black/Yellow wire at that coil has voltage on it w/key to on. Make sure the coil is bolted to the fender properly for this is how the igniter gets its ground and w/o it the coil will not work. Does the tach bounce when you attempt to start? If so then the trailing coil is firing as the tach signal is provided by the trailing coil. The Blue/Yellow wire at the trailing coil should continously alternate from having 5 volts to 0 volts back and forth when the Main pulley is turned w/key to on. Rotating the alternator pulley will usually cause the Main pulley to rotate. This is how the coil receives the triggering signal to fire.
