MN not getting fuel to engine.

Hi, I'm Brandon and very new to this club. I've bought a 88gxl about a year and half ago and it kinda ran when I got. It's been sitting pretty much since then. Now I try to start it but I found out that it's not getting any fuel @ all. Did some test such as fuel pressure, pump, and even change the fuel filter, but nothing. I'm thinking it could be electrical but not exactly sure. Any advise will greatly appreciated.

take a dmm and test voltage at the pump, if you have voltage at the pump and still no fuel pressure you most likely need a new pump. if you dont have voltage the start checking fuses and wires for opens or shorts. a wiring diagram will help in this process also.

Try checking the 15 amp Engine fuse in the interior fuse box. Look at post #166 in the link provided and the Blue wire in this relay should have voltage on it w/key to start. This wire runs to the rear of the car to the fuel pump and provides power for it. The yellow relay is located under the dash just to the right of the steering column. Use the solid Black wire in the relay (bottom row far left) as the ground source for the multimeter when measuring voltage on the Blue wire.

Question not getting fuel to engine.

I will test all the above but I also have couple more questions. Today I went run some test and found that the main relay was not working, so I check and it was not ground right so I moved ground to a different place and it actually clicks now with the key on and off. And also the fuel injectors are not firing, first I thought it's the main relay but now the relay is working but still not getting any fuel I know this for sure because I took the fuel injectors out for inspection. Had some fuel dripped into chamber and when I was done I try starting it again it sputter like as if it was starting. I quess my question is if the fuel pump still primes does it mean it's still working? I check pressure and it seems find. The fuel injectors is just not firing, so now I'm inclined to think there is an issue with the fuel injectors. not exactly sure how the egi system work on these cars. Thanks in advance.

The Main relay provides the injectors with voltage on the Black/Yellow wire so make sure this wire at the injectors has battery voltage w/key to on. Also check the Light Green wire to the injector for battery voltage w/key to on. The CAS is responsible for spark and fuel injection so make sure there is spark. If there is spark then you pretty much know the CAS is operating properly. You could use an LED light like the ones supplied at Radio Shack for $2 to test if the Light Green trigger wire for the injectors is being sent the proper signal from the ECU.

MN no fuel to motor

Hi, finally back again here. I have not given up on this issue just yet. I ran a number of test including injectors pulse/ohms/and power. Notice I got a much bigger issue than I initially thought. Leading coil's not firing, blown egi fuse(40amp one) and a missing fuel solenoid resistor. One quick question. Is it true that the injectors will not fire without the solenoid resistor? otherwise, everything else comes up fine. I will attempt to solve these before I make anymore speculations. Thanks for the help guys. I'm sure I'll be asking more questions next time I log in.
