Noise from behind the dash.
My car is a 1984 RX7 GS model with original 12A rotary engine and carburetor no modifications. The noise I describe is not due to any recent work or changes to the car.
A high pitched squeal is emitted when the car is first started. The noise seems to come from behind the dashboard.
The noise gets a quieter after driving for 20 minutes or more, but there is still a buzzing sound that spoils the driving experience and never completely goes away. Even after driving for one hour the sound can return again.
If I disconnect one particular fuse, the noise stops completely, but my mechanic told me that this fuse is needed for the engine oil pressure. I am not sure that this is true.
I do not know enough about whatever else is on the same fuse and whether I will cause damage if I disconnent the fuse.
What can I do to make this insane noise go away ?
Another posting spoke of a morse code like sound - and that might be an accurate description in this case too.
Hoping for a cure,
-Lee

Check the oil and coolant level.
If those check out, test the oil level and coolant level sensors.
The coolant level wire needs to see a constant ground from the sensor to keep the buzz quiet. The oil level wire is the opposite.
