No wires on 3 posts on the distributer?

Hi All,

I am new to the rotary world and as I move about this forum I see some of the engine bay pictures that show the distributer cap with 2 of the plug wires disconnected and the coil and col wire missing as well. In the one picture 2 plug wires appeared to run to a different set coils.

What is this mod and what are the performance benifits?

thanks, Keith

Those are people who have eliminated the trailing ignition.

There is no benefit.

I'm betting it's done most of the time because the leading ignitor failed, so they swapped it to the trailing to keep running and then never bothered to fix the trailing...
