no power, bucking, barely idles
Okay, so I've read something like a million (exageration) posts regarding what I thought is my problem and still have come up with nothing. I bought my 91 NA a few months ago and I absolutely love(d) it. Problem is, however, is that for some reason while I'm driving it just decides to go limp...I feel like I'm driving a Plymoth Horizon..it idles at 100-200 rpm, and no matter how hard I mash the pedal nothing happens...rpms still go up (to about 4-5k), but no power... The wierd thing is while it happens often, it doesn't always happen. I think i have it pinned down to when it warms up (IACV? Doubt it though..i cleaned it and nothing) I've had both primarys and secondarys cleaned, unpluged the tps and tried driving it (still happened), checked my grounds, checked the maf (bascially just pushed it in to see if I'd flood the motor..worked), everything I can think of short of checking compression (which I'm kind of scared to do) and checking the fuel pump.
So...has anyone else encountered this? Is there a fix? Or did I get screwed buying a car with an about-to-be-blown engine?
Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Hey I'm having the same problem with my 88 n/a.. what did you do to fix it? she runs great up until 4krpm and falls on her face...
it doesn't do it if its not in gear though. only when there is resistance.
Let me know what worked for you.
