SO I am buying a 89 GXL and the guy told me "intake header no cat borla duals"

I understand the borla duals are the exhaust but will the lack of cat not let me pass inspections in NC?

Also what is intake header?

 

No such thing as an Intake header,unless he means Intake AND header
I am assuming a cold air filter and a exhaust header.

and NO,your car will not pass without it's airpump in place and a decent Working Catalytic converter.It will fail Visual inspection without the cat alone anyways.

 

Not sure how it is in NC but many states have a 25 year cutoff for emissions. If that is the case then you are in luck.

 

This might be very misleading for u, but here in Europe(norway) there arnt any rules to have a cat, the "only" demand is that it pass the emissiontest(too bad its hard/impossible to pass without). If u are able to do that, u can probably earn alot of money
