TX new rx7 owner needing some help

hey guys im jorge, I recently aquired a 3rd gen rx7.
When I got the car the engine was bad in it, so i went ahead and bought another one from a guy paritng out his RX7. He had his car running and the engine was fine, but once i installed it in my car it wouldnt start it would just turn-over. Anybody know what may be wrong. The 7 i bought had sat for 6 yrs i didnt flush the gas tank could that have caused the non starting prolem? thanks

Heck of a way to get into the game there...releasing thread in tech section so some of the 3rdgen guru's can see it and get some pointed questions directed at you. I'm a 1stgen RX-7 guy still playing with the ancient Nikki carburetor.

Fresh gas. 6 year old gas wont work. Check for spark and fuel getting to the motor.

hey guys i finally got it stared i checked spark an fuel all was good then i realized that the engine had flooded. after unflodding the engine it started fine, but i will flush the tank before anything else.

One more thing, my car came without an air seperation tank, and i did some research and people say they have bypassed it. Is that possible? Replys highly appreciated since i have much to learn about RX7s lol

Yes, eliminating it is possible using a 86-88 filler neck.

Troubleshooting the start up will take some effort on your side - check for fuel, spark, compression, electrical. It is a common issue that happens after having reinstalled a new motor.
