Wassup guys my names Chris I'm new to rotarys and Rx7's, i came up on a trade for my current car 85 Rx7 gle-se, my previous car was an 86 Buick Regal with a small block 305. Ive had the car for two weeks now. First week it ran ok, although i took a long time to start in the mornings. And then finally it stopped running, i did basic test and i had weak spark and on the secind rotor that spark would cut off, (i had a faulty bobbin) i got a new one and brand new ngk sparkplugs. At this point i was getting spark but still wouldn't start. I wasn't hearing the fuel pump turn on so i took it off, tested it and it was fine. Found out that the wier that sends power to the fuel pump didnt have any current. I then poor some gas into the intake and it started right up for a secon. Meaning im not getting any fuel. All the fuses are fine, i belive the problem is the fuel pump relay. I cant find it however looked all under the dash and i dont have a clue where it is or how it looks like,i think its missing the relay because theres a plug that its missing a relay. I already ordered a new relay, should be getting in a couple of days from now. Hopefully it is that and i just plug it right in, if not i have to compare the relays under the dash and see which one is it, ill keep you guys informed and thanks for any feed back!!! I hope it starts soon!!! :

Chris..I'll take this thread as a TECH question,so you can still go ahead and post up an INTRO in the intro section if you choose to.
Welcome.
See if your Air flow meter is plugged in.If it is not it will not keep running.the engine will start and die.
The pump will not run with just Key ON..it only runs on Start position,Until the afm's flapper moves to tell the ecu that the car is getting air flow,so fuel must be delivered.then it turns the fuel pump on.

Sorry lol I'm still learning how to use the forum, i already posted up a proper intro. The mass air flow is connected, i would need to get a new one in the future, i had taken it off and cleanned it but still looks really dirty and it looks in bad shape, althought its pluged. Maybe it would run sloppy but i dont think thats the reason it wont start.
