Haven't owned an rx-7 before. Looking to get into an fc. Been looking around at them. Are there any common weak spots on the body of the car that are well known?

You won't regret it. If you want to have fun get a Na. If you want to have fun and spend some money get a turbo

 

If not already outlined in that link that Aaron cake provided. The fenders tend to rust out at the bottom, thats the most common part I personally know of. Also, make sure to check the front support bracket where the Radiator is.

My FC had some rust tucked in front of the rear fenders inside them. Make sure to check for bondo around the rear of the car as well. Most FC's around here have been owned by amateur drifters.

Check oil regularly. Read Aaroncake's links and website. He has alot of useful information.
