New to Rotary World
Just getting into the rotary world. Just picked up a 85 GSL-SE with engine problems. Also picked up a freshly built 85 13b carb engine. Any issues with using the swapping an intermediate iron from a FC (or FB) FI engine with the intermediate iron in the carb engine?

The main issue is that it won't fit.
Engines earlier then 86 had the coolant grooves in the housings and flat irons. Engines 86 and later had flat housings and coolant o-ring grooves in the irons. So you would need an intermediate iron from a GSL-SE. It will swap right into any pre-86 12A/13B.

ok u have a gslse with i assume still has the original FI engine but with problems, and another se engine, freshly built, that was converted to carb. so where does this FC part come into play? u can just swap in the carbed engine and add a fuel pressure regulator. but as aaron said, pre 86 engine housings can't be used with post 86 housings due to the O ring grooves being moved from the rotor housings to the intermediate housings in the later engines. but i have read where some have had those grooves milled into the later rotor housings to be used in the earlier engines.
