WA new rotary owner and member!

hello from eastern washington! just picked up an 87 turbo II for cheep, and been cleanin it up. car runs and is freakishly quick but wont restart when warm- highly confused with this situation and almost positive its an easy fix but not much rotary knowlede out here in tri-cities, WA... any ideas from anybody? Its got fresh fuel and new plugs but gobs of power... havin a hard time believin the engine is tired bein that powerful- would love to save the engine if possible. thanks for bein here, its nice to finally find a group that shares the same passion for oddball mechanical stuff- last hot rod was a smallblock chevy powered AMC Gremlin... have a great day everybody!

possibly plug wires? or even ignition coil?

Difficult warm restarts are due generally to low compression (if it runs well, that's likely not your issue) or dirty injectors (very common!). Having the injectors serviced by an injection shop will likely solve the issue. Also, a full tuneup is a good place to start,a and check the operation of the ECT.
