new to rotary need help

I have an 87 rx7 with a non turbo 1.3 all it has done is a header and exhaust I'm just wondering what would be better to do get a s4 turbo 2 motor and upgrade turbo and fuel system with a few other bolt ons or buy a street ported motor and turbo it I'm clueless on how to make power with one of these any suggestions would be helpful thanks

welcome.

if you're sure turbocharging is in your future, then start with a turbo engine. you're not at a level to start messing with high compression turbo rotaries. however, you should probably get familiar with the car and engine as is for a while before you go turbo.

Yeah all I've done to it is put a tune up and clutch in it but what would need to be done just to put a turbo 2 motor in it

secure a T2 powertrain/drivetrain and bolt it to your car. wire it to run with OEM or aftermarket EMS. obviously aftermarket is better and more versatile.

in my opinion, an aftermarket EMS and tune is the next step after a good exhaust system. others may disagree.

can the engine handle a turbo? yes.
is it advisable at your level? no.

Well, all that clutch work would go out the window.

Very little search effort found you this: S4 N/A-Turbo Swap Details

Google is the win in everything... especially this forum.
