New Radiator

Hey all,

I have been looking to upgrade my factory radiator. I have been looking at the Koyo radiator but it says it works for only 83-85 models. I have an 81. Will this work? Or will I need to modify some mounting brackets.

it's been a while, but if i remember, the radiator will bolt to the car just fine. however, it's taller. your '81 has a front mount oil cooler (which is why your radiator is shorter), which you can move in front, but you would need to get the oil cooler lines for the SE (or custom made) to make it all work. the other work-around would be to convert to the water-type oil cooler.

my opinion/advice would be to keep the air-type cooler, convert to -10 AN fittings and get lines made.
