Question New Member Motec Lambda questions.

First of all, Happy Holidays. I am sorry to make my first post such a complex one. I know this belongs in the Motec forum, but I am not allowed to post there until I have 5 posts. If I don't get any replies, is it possible for someone to post a link in that forum to this thread?

After finally getting my LM-1 connected to my Motec 4 Pro (Advanced Tuning, Logging and Lambda). I have started to tune using Quick Lambda and made a first attempt at using Lambda Control. I have the following questions:

I have setup Lambda control using the suggested parameters in the Help Screen. I have loaded a reasonable Lambda Table and set Lambda Control = Wideband.

This is a quote from the Motec FAQ

"Lambda Control - There are two types of control methods used in closed loop fueling. Narrow band closed loop control attempts to keep the air fuel ratio "pertubating" (dithering) slightly richer and slightly leaner than stoichiometric for emissions control. In a MoTeC ECU, narrow band control is simply turned on or off based on load and rpm. Wide Band closed loop control measures the current lambda and adjusts the fuel delivered to the engine, by comparing the measured lambda to the preset lambda goal table. "

1. Can I tell the M4 when to use Lambda Control? Most other Standalones have some minimun and maximum load and/or rpm settings at which to go into closed loop. My understanding is that the M4 is in closed loop unless it it under Acceleration Enrichment or Fuel Cut.. In Narrowband Lambda it says it is turned on/off based on Load and RPM, but not where to input these variables. In Wideband Lambda it says that it uses the table. I hope this doesn't mean that it is in closed loop all the time, including high looad/boost.

2. Where in the log can I look to find out if Lambda Control is actually working, and what adjustments its making?

Thanks for your help

Partial answer found

I discovered that Lambda control was being turned off after 30 seconds, because Input is limited to 1.5V and the LM-1 was putting out 1.523V. I adjusted the LM-1 Analog out and now it is functioning. I then discovered that La1 short and long term trims seem to indicate that it is working.

I would still like to know when lambda control functions. According to my log, there are lambda trims even while accelerating moderately.
