I own a RX7 1979, in France, so I hope you will understand my poor english.
I join the forum because I have a problem and no way to solve it: When I turn the key the dashboard is in a pre start mode: all alarm lights are on and the rpmmeter is on voltmeter mode; when you start the engine the dash board turn in normal mode: rpm on and alarm lights off. My problem is the dash board stay on pre start mode and don't turn in normal mode even the engine is turning. Is someone knows all to repear is, even if the reparation block the dashboard in normal mode, I don't care pre start mode.

Welcome, and your English is just fine. I would start with the ignition switch. It is a weak member and fortunately, fairly easy to replace. It can be sourced here: 79-80 Rx7 Ignition Switch (8871-66-151) (atkinsrotary.com)

Do you know on the ingnition conctactor whitch wire color I can manualy make contact wire to valide the break down unit ?

Do the warning lights remain on when the engine is running or does the tachometer continue to read voltage instead of reading engine rpm?

 

Your next step should be to download the Service manual and the wiring diagrams .
