new-to-me car purchase tips?

I am new to purchasing older cars in general. I know that each car has it's 'quirks' and things to look for, especially as they become more 'vintage'. What are somethings for me to look for? I know of rust and cheapo resprays. Any particular stuff like leaks in the turbo? I'm looking for a 2nd gen turbo.

Thank you!

Cool. Thanks for the link! I know I could have searched for myself, but the darn post limit.. "it made me do it." Seriously, though. I appreciate the link.

i don't mind, alot of pp did it for me, so i might as well as return the favor to newbies. just remember, let the car warm up to optimum temp, if turbo let the turbo cool during shut down by letting it idle for about 45 secs to a minute. just following simple procedures and you should have a nice experience with one.

The turbos on the 2nd gens are water cooled. Unless you are beating on the car, a cool down period is unnecessary.
