New here and have a few questions.

Hey guys, here is a post I made over a V8 RX7. I am looking for a bit of information so I can make the best choice the first time. Now before my post I certainly understand why many ppl would be against the idea but please read these with an opened mind and remember no flaming

I just purchased a 3rd generation RX7 and have a couple questions.

First of all I got a jdm RX7. Do the V8 kits still work with right hand drive cars or are they only suited for left hand drive?

Secondly, for those who have done the ls1 swap would you do it again? Is it the best method to get good performance and reliability?
The reason I ask is I have been reading on for the past few weeks and also have owned 3, V8 mustangs. I enjoy the low end torque of a V8, but favor the handling and styling of the 3rd generation RX7.

I know there are many mods one can make to increase the HP and apparently some to help the reliability issues known in the rotary engine. But are they worth it?? Should I skip them and just go towards the V8 conversion?

Finally, is it advisable to get an injector flush done? As I mentioned earlier I just got this car and I want to ensure I start this vehicle off with the best possible care. I have done this on my past vehicles and often received a smoother running vehicle afterwards. I would expect the same here but don't want to risk ruining the rotary engine.

Thanx
dj

There is no wrong answer here. A well tuned rotary with single or twin turbo will be quite fast and with a few extras and adjustments (auxiliary injection particularly) it can be quite reliable on pump gas. I happen to think that for a powerful durable car the V8 was the only option until good auxiliary injection systems were made available.

The V8 is a durable, powerful, and wonderful drivetrain in an FD. In this lightweight chassis it will peel tires right off the rims. It's also not nauseating on fuel economy. But it's not a rotary and that's a big part of the soul of this car IMO.
